I’ve started my career as a mindfulness guide as a logical continuation of being a Forest School practitioner. I’ve noticed and I’ve been amazed by the positive transformation of kids during the Forest School sessions. So, I started to look for the element that’s triggering this.
And my working hypothesis is that the ethos and structure of Forest School sessions involves a lot of mindfulness. Forest school allows kids to have their own time and space and be themselves as much as possible. I believe here is where the magic happens! Forest school also nurtures creativity, imagination and free play and builds a deep connection with nature. This is what I’ll call a “Natural Mindfulness”. And kids are bringing this innate
knowledge with them, we just need to support them to let it be.
I do believe the best mindfulness practice for kids is Forest School 🙂
If you look at these pictures you’ll discover a lot of focus, use of senses and happiness.
